NELSPRUIT - One friendship, a mutual love for art and immeasurable self-discipline are taking two local artists and friends all the way to Paris to experience the European spring this year.
Mss Ilona Petzer and Yvonne Ankerman met each other almost 15 years ago when they were both tour guides in the Kruger National Park and only painted as a hobby. It was this mutual love for art and wildlife that caused them to spend more and more time together and not only grow as friends, but also as artists.
Now, after years of hard work and giving a lot to art in South African and the Lowveld, the wheel has finally turned and they are getting something back.
Petzer and Ankerman have been accepted to go to the Cité Internationale des Arts (or the International City of Arts) in Paris for two months to simply focus on their art in one of the most beautiful cities on earth. This honour is bestowed on only a few South...
